I have recently experienced again, rediscovered, a timeless truth... that our love, peace and joy as a Christian... are independent of our surroundings, circumstances, and even, other people.
What do I mean? Well, the Bible says that our love, peace and joy as a Christian are of the Holy Spirit (Romans 5:5; 14:17; 15:13 & 1 Thessalonians 1:6). In this case, then, we can have love, peace and joy no matter what happens to us because they are originated of the Holy Spirit!
Many times we hear from people: how they experienced love, peace and joy - because something good happened to them. We hear testimony after testimony. It's not that I am against such things. Because God is good. He does good things to us. But we have come to such a state; of which, our love, peace and joy, are so attached, akin, to what happens to us. We became hooked to what God does for us... on the outside!
We can do all things through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13). It means that we can have joy even if bad things happen to us. The joy of the Lord is our strength (Nehemiah 8:10).
Have you been experiencing rejection? We know that the Holy Spirit has experienced so much rejection throughout history. Even today, He is still being rejected. The Holy Spirit knows what it is, to be rejected. He can help you. ASK HIM.
