17 and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. 18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. 19 For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. 20 For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; 21 because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. 22 For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. 23 Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. 24 For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? 25 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. (Romans 8:17-25)
If God is going to contradict His own text, then He is lawless. We know that He is not lawless. If God was to speak to us something, wouldn't He use other means, rather than contradicting His own text. Sadly speaking, many have been lawless quoting the scripture. Some compromised. Some are ignorant. Some are still learning, and it is great to have a teachable heart which is most important, for out of the heart proceeds everything else. And the heart is deceitful, believe me, and what more for those who handle the scripture.
Therefore, LET US BE FAITHFUL TO THE TEXT. Let the basic understanding of the text be a platform or a springboard, and then see where it goes forth from there.
and if children, then heirs—heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. (Romans 8:17)
`heirs' means to receive, means not having received yet, but to receive something in the future.
`we may also be glorified together' means an event in the future. You know that the Rapture will be a glorious event. The Lord will appear in the air with the sound of the trumpet. We will rise up with a new body and he will receive us. This is a glorification because the whole world will watch this. The timing is like a thief in the night. But when it happens, everybody will know about it.
How can Paul ...and ancient Christians throughout the ages ...together with you and I ...be glorified together with Christ? The answer is the Rapture!
The old people of the faith who had died will rise first, followed by us who is still living, and together meet the Lord in the air.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. (Romans 8:18)
Paul was comparing now to a future: `present time' and `to be compared with the glory' `shall be'. Again, `us' means, we together with Paul, and together with Christ.
For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God. (Romans 8:19)
`waits' means a future, the Rapture will reveal the sons of God. As I said, it will be a public worldwide event in which everybody good and evil will be aware of it, extremely obvious WILL BE who the children of God are. This agrees with Jesus' parable of the wheat and the tares (Matthew 13:24-30). The good and the bad grow together until the last days, and then we will know who are the REAL children of God. The Rapture will be THIS DEFINING MOMENT
For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of Him who subjected it in hope; because the creation itself also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God. For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now. Not only that, but we also who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption, the redemption of our body. For we were saved in this hope, but hope that is seen is not hope; for why does one still hope for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance. (Romans 8:20-25)
`hope' speaks of something in the future, something we do not see yet, therefore, we eager wait for it with perseverance.
Most times, `hope' in the New Testament refers to the `blessed hope'; for genuine believers of Christ who died, straight to heaven, and for these who are alive during the Rapture, will be taken up.
The whole creation is corrupted, therefore decaying and dying. Our `blessed hope', our `good news' is that we are not going to be in this physically dying body of ours when we die or when the Rapture happens. We are going to have a new body.
And this particular `glorious liberty' means the Rapture. We are going to be transformed in the twinkle of an eye. We are going to be liberated from this corrupted, decaying, dying world.
The `go green' message and `world climate' forum, the attempts of men, will not improve anything at all.
