This verse has been misquoted/misused. While I absolutely believe in divine healing, this verse was talking about something else.
But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to (5692) your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you. (Romans 8:11; Strong’s Number in parenthesis)
In the original Greek text, 5692 (Strong’s Number) is a Word Tense which has an indicative Word Mood.
5692 is a future tense that corresponds to the English future, and indicates the contemplated or certain occurrence of an event which has not yet occurred.
The indicative mood is a simple statement of fact. If an action really occurs or has occurred or will occur, it will be rendered in the indicative mood.
This is a future event. This is the Rapture.
Notice in Romans 8:10: And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.
Our body is aging and dying because of the sin commited by Adam. God told Adam that he would die if he took of that fruit. Adam could have physically lived forever. But he died.
Our inmost spiritual person is the tree of life, will live forever because of the righteousness of Christ obtained for us by His death at the cross.
But our physical body is still taken by Adam's curse because of his disobedience in eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the curse of death, the Adamic nature.
THE GOOD NEWS is...
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. (1 Corinthians 15:52-53)
This is the Blessed Hope. We will have a new physical body that doesn't decay or die. We take care of our body because it is the temporary temple of the Holy Spirit, just like the temporary tabernacle of wilderness, until the permanent temple was built by Solomon.
But we don't sow into our body, we sow into our spiritual person and reap life everlasting.
