So then, those who are in the flesh cannot please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His. And if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. (Romans 8:8-10)
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. (Romans 8:1; underline mine)
One of the root meanings of the original Bible Greek word for `walk' in Romans 8:1 implies the idea of `pierce, through, across, beyond, further'. The question is, how can we walk according to the inmost spiritual person within us? How can our spiritual walk pierce through, across, beyond - the embodiment, the domain, of our flesh? How can we break through, go beyond our flesh ...and spiritually walk?
The word `capsule' if often used for a small soluble container that encloses a dose of an oral medicine or a vitamin. In general, `encapsulation' is defined as the inclusion of one thing within another thing so that the included thing is not apparent.
`Decapsulation' is the removal or the making apparent of a thing previously encapsulated. So then, how can we decapsulate, so that our inmost spiritual person will emerge walking? How can the new man in Christ take over and take control?
The Christian life should be lived and revolved round our spiritual person. A lot of people don’t understand, that when a person is `born again’ spiritually (John 3:3-8); he/she is to live the Christian life from that which (whom) is birthed forth by the Holy Spirit. Our inmost spiritual being is a person. As a matter of fact, our inmost spiritual person should be more real to us than all other parts of us.
Our Christianity does not primarily flow out of our soul or body.
But we have a spiritual being, our inmost spiritual person, who takes after the nature of God.
WE ARE, first and foremost, spiritual.
Many lived the Christian life – emotionally, psychologically and physically. These aspects of us are not wrong by themselves, but they are to be governed by our spiritual person.
Again, WE ARE, a spiritual person. Just as there is a natural world, there is spiritual world. Just as our physical being has brain and senses; our spiritual being has the mind of Christ, spiritual discernment and spiritual senses.
We have natural wisdom, we also have spiritual wisdom. The spiritual wisdom is to overrule and override the natural wisdom. The spiritual wisdom is to govern the natural wisdom, and not the other way round. The natural wisdom cannot comprehend the spiritual wisdom. But the spiritual wisdom can govern the natural wisdom wonderfully.
The natural person cannot relate to the Holy Spirit. But our spiritual person can hear what the Holy Spirit is saying, see what the Holy Spirit is showing and sense what the Holy Spirit is doing.
