Saturday (Oct 10)
By the provision of God, I met a good samaritan, a Filipino by the name of Rod. He was working for the Andaman Hotel at Langkawi Island, Malaysia. Rod was getting home for a 3-weeks holiday.
Nearly got conned by a greedy bus conductor, Rod saved me (imagine me standing 7 hours in the bus purportedly the last bus to San Fernando City).
We finally took the same bus. He stopped at Binalonan in the province of Pangasinan, and I at San Fernando City in the province of La Union (central/northern part of Luzon Island).
Left Dau bus station at 1.30pm and arrived at San Fernando City at 8.30pm.
Because of impassable roads due to the flooding, Ps. Conrado Lumahan (the Regional Superintendent of Northern Luzon AoG churches) couldn't meet me at Clark airport. The flooding was also the reason it took me such a long time to reach San Fernando City.
Rod is a Catholic who did attend Protestant churches a few times before. I tried to reach-out to Rod because his home was in Binalonan where Luzon Bible College was situated, where I would be ministering on Tuesday.
Sunday (Oct 11)
I had a powerful service this morning.
The pastor, Ps. Mar, the presbyter who heads the AoG pastors in the province of La Union …together with his congregation …were blessed by my ministry.
This church was located at Balauan town, about 30 minutes drive from San Fernando City.
Monday (Oct 12)
Invited by Ps. Conrado to sit-in in an AoG related meeting held at an orphanage which was approximately 2 hours drive from San Fernando City.
I had warm fellowship with pastors there.
From the orphanage, we set out to Luzon Bible College. And we arrived at approximately 4 pm.
The whole place was muddy due to the flooding two days prior. Water was receding but lots of mud and water still there. Properties damaged.
The president Ps. Alfredo Torres (Ps. Fred) parsonage managed to be ready just before I arrive. It was fantastic. Thank the Lord.
Tuesday (Oct 13)
My birthday! So many greetings from Facebook friends!
I ministered in the night service ...there was a revival manifestation of the Holy Spirit …and the bible college students were charged by the fire and passion of God.
I shared the first part of `Courtship, Love and Marriage’.
Wednesday (Oct 14)
I ministered in the morning chapel service ...students were blessed by devotional thoughts through my regular systematic reading of the Bible.
Ps. Fred (the President of the college) told me that the students were very excited going into the night service as they have many questions on `Courtship, Love and Marriage’ …we had Q&A last night and would have another Q&A.
This is the main night service, and many more questions on `Courtship, Love and Marriage’ were answered.
The students were encouraged because the flood had dampened their hearts a little bit ...and the anointed messages of these three services had lifted them!
Thursday (Oct 15)
Since I was ministering in AoG churches under the purview of Ps. Conrado, I was invited to participate in the food distribution for villagers at Pantul, Baringay at the province of Pangasinan.
We spent whole day traveling and fellowshipping in van and jeepney, doing relief work in this International Christian Mission & AoG Northern Luzon joint effort, distributed food stuffs to 400 families drastically affected by the flood.
I like to testify, in addition to the conspicuous appreciativeness of the villages which I witnessed personally and visibly, there was such a great response to the gospel …almost the entire crowd responded to the invitation given!
Friday (Oct 16)
Met Sgt Orlando Cacdac who was so passionate about evangelism in the police force (many souls are being saved through the Moral Recovery Program which he had co-restarted).
And I had lunch at Ps. Conrado's church member's house. This member is an engineer who was leaving for Qatar, and would be away for one-and-a-half years.
We had our lunch in one of the cluster of houses that belong to this engineer's family. This cluster of houses was surrounded by padi fields yet these houses were beautiful. We had quite a range of authentic Philippines food.
Ps. Conrado asked me to pray for this engineer …to send him off …and I prayed in a supernatural faith and power.
Then we visited Colonel Obaldo, the chief police of San Fernando City. He is such a testimony. He has been short listed as one of the 3 candidates for the leadership award among the chief police figures in the country.
He told us of his testimony about how he had to sacrifice by refraining from helping his own family during the flood because his duty to the public was at hand.
But God protected his family. His wife was crying over the phone as the water was rising while she and their daughter were in the car. Colonel Obaldo passed them by …head bowed …he had to get to somewhere which had a more urgent situation!
I was asked by Ps. Nitura to pray for him, and I prayed prophetically by the revelation of the Holy Spirit.
By the way, Colonel Obaldo pioneered the horse cart patrol which was recognized by the nation’s police top brass. This novel idea saves gasoline, promotes a cleaner environment.
And I added and they thus agreed …that it is easier for the police officer to get down and chase a suspect in the streets …and also unlikely that somebody will steal a horse carriage with the horse …even if it was abandoned!
Saturday (Oct 17)
Today, Ps. Nitura took me to visit his home. Had Filipino lunch with his family (glutinous rice with a famous Filipino fish which I can't remember the name of, plus goat meat).
After lunch, with beautiful anointed worship songs playing, I prayed for Sister Frances (Ps. Nitura’s wife had undergone breast cancer treatment).
And Sister Frances testified after the prayer, that the headache (cranial/head pain) which she was suffering quite a while, had disappeared. Praise the Lord!
Later at 2pm, Sister Annie (Ps. Conrado's wife) together with Sister Zita (and niece) fetched me at the hotel to visit a church member (Ps. Conrado and his team was on the way to Korea for 10-days ministry trip).
The church member was celebrating his 6 year old granddaughter’s birthday. We had homemade halo halo (Filipino dessert).
I was invited to pray and dedicate the little girl to the Lord. I had a wonderful experience leading little kids from the neighborhood in prayer. I also had the little birthday girl saying a special `Amen’ through the microphone.
Sunday (Oct 18)
It was a good Holy Spirit morning service. According to Sister Annie, I delivered a simple yet powerful message.
Again had homemade Filipino lunch provided by the ladies fellowship in the church premises.
Immediately after lunch, we traveled by bus to Angeles City. This `sin city’ is located at the vicinity of Clark airport. Brother Jonathan, Ps. Conrado’s nephew, accompanied me for fellowship.
We checked-in at Marlim Mansion Hotel at 5.30pm …we washed-up, had dinner at downtown, then back to hotel …I spent some time checking my e-mail and posting a devotional in the Facebook.
Monday (Oct 19)
Checked-in at Clark airport 9.30 am (20 minutes travel via hotel shuttle van).
Unexpectedly met and chat-up with a Christian music worship group called Winds Of Adonai.
They appeared on Sky TV on the day earlier, and have been ministering to Catholic people (they are Malaysians).
So I had a discovery discussion with them, exchanging notes while waiting for the same flight. We agreed to look each other up through the Facebook.
