In this message, I would like to share with you …the one powerful truth that will place you in a position for a miraculous life with God. This might be the key to unlock the miracle that you have been waiting for.
On the third day there was a wedding in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of Jesus was there. Now both Jesus and His disciples were invited to the wedding. And when they ran out of wine, the mother of Jesus said to Him, “They have no wine.” Jesus said to her, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me? My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.” (John 2:1-5)
This was the first recorded miracle of Jesus …He turned water into wine in a wedding He attended …He brought dignity to the host …He saved them from a shameful situation.
When my wife and I were dating prior to our marriage, we used to have early evening devotions together at a public park. There were a number of people fishing at the lake. And some would be jogging at the track. Others would be sitting on the grass having a picnic. I parked my car in the shade of a tree, and we do devotion together.
At this particular evening, we were a few months to our wedding. One source of concern was our finances. But at this moment, we didn’t think about money. I was to turn to the part of the Bible at the continuation of my regular systematic Bible reading, to pick up where I left off.
And before I opened the Bible, I had such distinct and tangible faith entered me …I knew that I knew that I knew …that God was going to speak to us …EVEN BEFORE I opened the Bible.
So I turned to the Gospel of John chapter two …RIGHT EXACTLY WHERE I LEFT OFF from my previous reading …I didn’t recall from the previous reading…wasn’t aware what text was coming up.
So, A WEDDING in Cana.
Jesus said to her mother Mary bluntly, “Woman, what does your concern have to do with Me?”
Jesus didn’t mean to be disrespectful to His earthly mother, but at that point, He was speaking from His position as the Son of God.
“What does your concern have to do with Me?”
How do you change from a NO INTEREST situation …and make God interested to do something for you?
Mary said nothing else except this: she said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it …DO IT!”
That was remarkable. That was the key to the miracle. That was the answer to the situation. That was the truth that led to the miracle of changing water into wine …that satisfied the crowd in the wedding.
“whatever He says to you, do it”
Are you ready for your miracle? The prelude to your miracle is hearing God’s instruction.
How do you get ready for God’s miracle? By being always ready to do whatever He tells you to do. That was the key to the miracle.
And how did Mary, or rather when did Mary, learned this?
There was no mistake, it was not pure coincidence or chance …that such a situation happened before in Mary’s life …way before the wedding in Cana …at a time when the angel Gabriel appeared to Mary.
Let me read the Gospel of Luke chapter one, verse twenty six onwards:
Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth, to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph, of the house of David. The virgin’s name was Mary. And having come in, the angel said to her, “Rejoice, highly favored one, the Lord is with you; blessed are you among women!” But when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and considered what manner of greeting this was. Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS. He will be great, and will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.” Then Mary said to the angel, “How can this be, since I do not know a man?”
“How can this be, since I do not know a man?”
“How can this be?” The virgin gave birth. No artificial insemination. The greatest miracles are those which bless others. Christ came to the world as the light of salvation to save mankind.
Let me continue, verse thirty five:
And the angel answered and said to her, “The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Highest will overshadow you; therefore, also, that Holy One who is to be born will be called the Son of God. Now indeed, Elizabeth your relative has also conceived a son in her old age; and this is now the sixth month for her who was called barren. For with God nothing will be impossible.” Then Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.”
Mary said, “Behold the maidservant of the Lord! Let it be to me according to your word.”
In essence, Mary was saying: “Hey God, I am ready, I am Yours. Whatever you said to me …let it be, I will comply, I will follow, I will obey.”
You see, when your heart is ready like Mary’s heart was, God will perform the miracle in your life, for with God nothing will be impossible!
Get ready your heart for God to speak to you. Say, “God, make me ready. Let me obey You whatever it takes for you to perform this miracle in my life. I am ready. I am listening.”
Then, the miracle is at your door, the miracle is ready to happen in your life. Get ready!
