Jesus did not obey the law, He fulfilled it. There was a big empty space, created by the Old Testament law of Moses. Jesus came, and filled this empty space, to the very full. Jesus fulfilled the law.
I want to share with you a phrase in the Bible which had perplexed me for a long time. It is this phrase: "grace for grace" …found in the book of the Gospel of John.
And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (John 1:16-17; underline mine)
Imagine that you are an employee, an office staff of a large firm. And the whole office floor where you are in, is expecting a new President.
Renovation was made to prepare his room …from architectural design to interior furnishings. Finally, the room is ready …it is time to label the door …and that engraved label has a name ...and the description …instead of President …is Grace.
But it is an empty room. It is totally ready. Yet it is still an empty room waiting for Grace Himself to come and fill His special place designed and tailor-made for Him alone.
This empty room is called Grace. And when the person Grace arrives …He walks into this room …then it is called Grace For Grace ...because the person of Grace has entered the room of Grace.
The law was that elaborated room. But it was an empty room waiting for the arrival of Jesus. The law was created for Jesus. The law was the empty room of Grace.
Jesus said that I came to fulfill the law. And when Jesus came, grace and truth came. And we call it Grace For Grace.
Grace and truth come together. Without grace, truth is still the empty law. The Bible says, let your words be seasoned with grace. For without grace, our words will be a burden like the Old Testament law of Moses.
Is your life anchored in the grace of God?
If you are heart is burdened, let Jesus come in and have total roaming space in the room of your heart.
Whether you are a Christian or not, let grace come in and lift the burden in your heart.
Even today, if you are feeling empty inside ...know this …your heart was created for Jesus alone …your heart is that empty room of Grace ….waiting for Jesus …waiting for Grace to come in …let Jesus come in …let Grace For Grace happen to you RIGHT NOW.
