THE SEVEN QUALITIES OF A SUCCESSFUL GODLY LEADERSHIP
1. The Leadership Of God In His Life
I have read many testimonies of men mightily used of God, and I have concluded that one outstanding noticeable quality is that you can see the marks and evidences of God leading them in their lives.
They follow and abide in God's leading. Hence, accuracy in discerning God's leading is crucial.
Having God's leading, he does not bow to the pressure of the surrounding circumstances, and he does not bend to the demand of others.
King Saul succumbed to the pressure of the situation (1 Samuel 13:5-14). He allowed fear to enter his life. The fear and insecurity festered, and took control of his destiny. He could use the strength that David had through a life of worship and the wisdom that King Solomon had through prayer (1 Kings 3:5-13; James 1:5). We should lead a life of worship. We should continually ask God for wisdom, and continually believe Him for it.
2. The Giftings Of God In His Life
You can see the leader maximizes his giftings fully. Not only that he utilizes and operates all his giftings; he continually allows God to impart more gifts into him.
3. The Anointing Of God In His Life
When a leader does what God wants him to do, God will anoint what he does.
4. The Unity Of God In His Life
The successful godly leader is able to unite others around the goal, purpose and vision that God has given him. He is able to unite them, and to create synergy and teamwork. He is able to work with all sorts of people that God sent into his life.
When a leader unites himself to God's will, God will unite others around him. God's spiritual unity within him will generate a drawing power like a magnet.
5. The Faith Of God In His Life
The leader has the faith to believe God for greater things. When he ceases to believe God for greater things, his godly leadership ceases, because there is nothing in the future of which God will be in it. A successful godly leader always remains open to God to impart faith into him.
6. The Meekness Of God In His Life
The successful godly leader realizes that God’s issues are too big for him. He has the heart attitude that stands in awe of the hand of God. He stands back to spiritually observe the big picture of the move of God.
He seeks to listen to God: what part is he to play in it?
He doesn’t assume that He has to control everything. He doesn’t just jump-in, take-hold and handle things. He is not quick to take the role of a corporate leader in an automatic fashion, lest he acts in the flesh. But rather; he seeks to be a humble, obedient servant.
7. The Strength Of God In His Life
God’s leader is capable of absorbing the direct, frontal criticisms of others; without having any negative impact on him or any future personal ramifications; after that.
He is like a big comfortable, strong couch/sofa that many people can sit on.
In the physical realm, a person is birthed through the leading sperm that penetrated the ovum. We were borne a leader. In the spiritual realm, we were borne to lead others to Christ. Spiritual leadership is more birthed than acquired. To go to the next level of leadership, we need to birth forth the leadership qualities within us through prayer and intercession.
"My little children, for whom I labor in birth again until Christ is formed in you..." (Galatians 4:19)
It is a growing process. But God’s type of leader will grow in the direction of the above qualities.
