There are 3 essential elements for Christian living namely Spirit, Light and Grace.
Jesus is our prime model and example.
Jesus Was Full Of Spirit
For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure. (John 3:34)
Jesus Was Full Of Light
In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. (John 1:4-5)
Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” (John 8:12)
“The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness! (Matthew 6:22-23)
Jesus Was Full Of Grace
And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace. For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (John 1:16-17)
The connection between grace and truth are somewhat akin to the connection between economy and finance.
The Tree Of Life And The Tree Of The Knowledge of Good And Evil
And out of the ground the LORD God made every tree grow that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. (Genesis 2:9)
The tree of life is the inmost spiritual being/person within us, because we experience an impartation of spiritual life through the new birth experience.
We also have the tree of knowledge of good and evil within us. It is the self, the life we received from this world, ever since our natural birth. For this reason, we must be born again spiritually so that we can also have the tree of life within us.
Nevertheless, we have to make choices so that the tree of life within us will live and grow – and so that the tree of knowledge of good and evil within us will die.
We will have to choose to live to God and die to self – on a daily basis.
For any tree to grow, it needs 3 essential elements: fertile ground (nutrients), water and sunlight.
For the tree of life to live and grow, we also need 3 essential elements: Spirit, Light and Grace.
As Jesus was, while he was here on earth; we also need to be full of Spirit, full of Light and full of Grace.
This is the fullness of life.
