MINISTRY REPORT - KENYA AND UGANDA (4TH – 17TH DECEMBER 2010)
KINDLY NOTE: PICTURES TAKEN DURING THIS MINISTRY IS AT ZAC LOH’S FACEBOOK PROFILE PHOTO ALBUM
Saturday (Dec 4)
Bishop Joseph Butiya and his friend Pastor Dony (who is based in Nairobi) met me at the airport at Nairobi. Bishop Butiya was suffering from typhoid and yet he took a 6-hour trip by van-taxi to the airport to take care of me.
We waited 2 ½ hours for an available van-taxi. Finally, after a 4-hour ride by van-taxi through Kenyan countryside, we arrived at the city of Eldoret at western Kenya.
Met Bishop Butiya’s son, Pastor Shadrach (who is based in Eldoret), there.
And then, we took a car-taxi to the town of Webuye, a 1-hour 40 minutes ride.
At 9 pm, I checked-in at a motel by the name of Minata at Webuye.
Sunday (Dec 5)
Ministered at Sunday Service of the Grace Revival Evangelistic church located at the market-village of Chekalini, which is 1 hour ride from Webuye. The road condition was very bad.
My message was: “Two Keys To Miracles”.
After lunch at the church, we proceeded to a nearby village where a church member was getting married. This is the bride’s village, a pre-wedding celebration.
I ministered there. My message was: “The Word Of God Is The Foundation For A Happy Marriage”.
Monday (Dec 6)
The conference was held at Chekalini. It began with a night revival service. I ministered in line with the theme of the conference: Jeremiah 30:17. I was the first speaker.
My message was: “God Heals The Wound Of The Outcast”.
From the response of the attendees and the pastors, I knew that the people were really blessed by the message and ministry.
I had a good interpreter by the name of Pastor Dennis Makutu. A very anointed preacher-teacher himself and one of the co-speakers.
Tuesday (Dec 7)
Because of the large number of speakers invited, I ministered only 1 session per day every day. But I ministered 8 out of the 9 days. I am happy to have served our Lord. Glory to Him!
I taught on “The Lord’s Prayer”.
Wednesday (Dec 8)
I continued on “The Lord’s Prayer”. I like to note that every session was blessed by God and God made me a real blessing to the attendees.
I roamed the village and shook hands. Many villagers and children had never met a Chinese in their lives. A first time for everything!
Thursday (Dec 9)
Brother Indusa is a headmaster of a secondary school at the vicinity of Chekalini. In fact, his house is adjacent to Chekalini. At the back of his house, he rears cows and poultry. He has his own milk supply!
Brother Indusa is an elder of the church and ministry. He is the only church member who owns a car. He fetched me every day back-and-forth from the motel to Chekalini at the extremely bad terrain. But we had good times of fellowship and getting to know one another1
I had a morning session and finished on “The Lord’s Prayer”.
This is the day I suffered from vomiting and diarrhea which lasted until the next morning.
Friday (Dec 10)
I called early to cancel my session for the day because the purging had continued.
Brother Indusa came over to take care of me.
We went to the pharmacy and bought tablets for the purging. At the pharmacy, we were advised by the doctor to take a blood test at the lab at the town itself, for malaria, because Kenya is part of the Malaria zone.
True enough, I had a mild Malaria. Went back to the pharmacy. Bought the anti-Malaria tablets.
REMEMBER next time, take Malaria prevention tablets on the first day!
Also, before I forget, bring mini torchlight because the roads are not lighted at night.
And very IMPORTANT, bring a jacket/sweater because the temperature dips frequently due to the winds.
And Kenya (and Uganda) is very dusty.
Saturday (Dec 11)
Morning session, I taught on “The Tripod Of Faith, Hope And Love”, focusing on “The Cycle Of Faith”. And summing-up with “The 3 Pairs Of Great Comm” i.e. The 2 Great Commandments, The 2 Great Communications and The 2 Great Commissions.
It seems the Lord had been speaking to us. The messages from different speakers who heard God, coincided and complemented each other, this without knowing what the other was going to speak.
Felt led to pray for Pastor Dennis Makutu, before the congregation, in the area of mentorship.
I encouraged the congregation to join-in in prayer as the speakers laid hands on Pastor Dennis. I asked every pastor and minister of the Word to come forward to be prayed for. I invited the speakers to lay hands on every pastor and every minister of the Word who was present.
Felt led to invite Pastor Dennis to join me in ministry in Uganda.
I was invited to Africa by Pastor Wabugwa Paul David. He took care of me with such care, he kind of protected me throughout my time in Kenya and Uganda. And I got to know him a lot.
I discussed with Pastor Paul David, and he spoke to Pastor Dennis who agreed to join me.
So this ministry sponsored Evangelist Muliika Emmanuel Fred (my contact in Uganda who invited me there), Pastor Wabugwa Paul David and Pastor Dennis Makutu – in the cost of travel, food and lodging from Dec 13 – 17.
A few days before, Pastor Dennis discussed with a friend about mentorship. This friend, who also attended the conference, was amazed: “how could this man from far away in Malaysia, who doesn’t know us, knew what we had discussed?”
I didn’t know. But God knew. Praise Him!
Sunday (Dec 12)
I concluded my ministry with the powerful message of “The Footsteps Of Jesus”. The people were elated. They were greatly blessed for sure. The speakers and pastors thanked me for the message.
Praise the Lord! All glory to Him!
SPECIAL NOTE:
As I said earlier, I got to know Pastor Wabugwa Paul David a lot. He is quite well connected to apostles/bishops/pastors in countries around East Africa namely Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, D.R. Congo, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa, Southern Sudan, Namibia and Rwanda.
Pastor Paul David is a good connector and organizer. And he is willing. So the door is wide open for connection, networking, ministry and church planting in these countries!
Plan is in the works for the next conference to be held at the poorer side of the city Dar es Salaam of the country Tanzania sometime in March/April next year. We have this team of dynamic preachers and teachers who are willing to be there. By the way, Tanzania is at the southern border of Uganda and Kenya.
Monday (Dec 13)
Pastor Paul David and Pastor Dennis met me at motel Minata (where I was staying) at the town of Webuye, at western Kenya. And Uganda is located at the western border of Kenya.
From Webuye, we took a van-taxi at the main road, transferred to another van at a town somewhere, and finally arrived at our destination, the town of Malabar, the border town of Kenya/Uganda.
According to the chef de Mission of Uganda in Malaysia, no visa needed, but certified yellow fever vaccination is required (I paid RM320-00 for this!) …what-ya-know …the certificate was not asked (anyhow, better be sure than be sorry …or prevention is better than cure …a pun indeed!).
Note: for a Malaysian, only passport is needed for Kenya.
We met Pastor Jeremiah, pastor Paul David’s brother, who is co-pastoring the church whom Pastor Paul David planted in Malabar. We visited the church building, dedicated the church building, and prayed the released of God’s blessing and favor upon the church.
Visited the home of a lady infected with HIV and prayed for her.
Visited the home of a church member and prayed for the family.
Lunch prepared by Pastor Jeremiah’s wife at his home. Delicious, because it was quite close to Malaysian style (tomato rice with pork stew!)
We managed to take a ride with a car which was being delivered for sale in Uganda (had to pay, anyway!).
Checked-in at Ntinda Valley motel located at the town of Iganga, after about 4 hours ride.
Met Evangelist Fred and Pastor Joven (our host) there. Had a brief discussion about the Bible Seminar schedule and then we prayed together.
Evangelist Fred stayed with us while Pastor Joven returned to his village of Kiroba, to make further preparations
Tuesday (Dec 14)
We hired a car each day to take us back-and-forth from/to the church – the motel. A 25-minute ride through the mega village of Kiroba (pronounced Chee-Ro-Ba).
The church building also served as a primary school building. Pastor Joven is the pastor of the church and the principal of the primary school.
Pastor Joven is well respected in this MEGA village which has about 35 churches. A few pastors attended, but many were distracted through their involvement in the political campaign, raging because of the election was due on February.
In fact, the President of Uganda, Musaveni, was due to visit the other side of the village, in his campaign trail, on the VERY next day.
So the fervor of this political wind contributed to the small turnout for this Bible Seminar.
Evangelist Fred said he is committed to make it bigger and better - should we come again (I need to get Pastor David Paul involved in order to make it successful!).
We had to start the Bible Seminar late each morning because villages had to walk from far away (this is a MEGA village!).
We had four 1-hour sessions each day. Sessions shared by Evangelist Fred, Pastor Paul David, Pastor Dennis and me.
But I took 6 sessions out of the 12 sessions (which lasted 3 days).
Evangelist Fred began the first session with the message: “Faith Or Fear?”
I had dedicated my 6 sessions on this topic: “The True Message Of Prosperity” beginning with the message: “Inward Prosperity versus Outward Prosperity: Smyrna versus Laodicea”.
Pastor David Paul preached on “Flourishing And Fruitful”.
I concluded the last session of the day with my second message entitled: “Grace And Liberality: Macedonians And Corinthians”.
Wednesday (Dec 15)
Bible Seminar, Second Day, First Session: “The Benefits Of Having The Fear Of God In You” (Evangelist Fred)
Second Session: “The True Message Of Prosperity By Jesus Himself” (Zac Loh)
Third Session: “The Lord Of Hosts” (Pastor Dennis Makutu): a very powerful anointed message and preaching, everybody was excited and energized by the Holy Spirit.
Fourth Session: “The 28 Blessings Of God From Hebrews Chapter 11” (Zac Loh). I taught and spoke these blessings of God upon the people .
Thursday (Dec 16)
Bible Seminar, Third Day, First Session: “The Principles Of Provision From The Life Of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob And Solomon” (Zac Loh)
Second Session: “Divine Leading, Divine Guidance, Divine Provision” (Zac Loh)
Third Session: “The Mind Of Success: The Law Of The Spirit Of Life In Christ Jesus” (Zac Loh).
Zac went towards the people and prayed for them all over the hall. Called-out, declared and decreed the mind of success upon them.
Fourth Session: “Jacob Went Toward Haran: Covenant And Service”. Another anointed session by Pastor Dennis. Altar call made. Most came to the front. The speakers prayed for them. Deliverance ministry followed after a demonic manifestation.
CONCLUSION:
The attendees of the Bible Seminar were truly blessed by the ministry of this Bible Seminar.
You can see it by their faces, and from what they personally shared, and through their genuine appreciation of us.
Friday (Dec 17)
The hired car took us to Kampala, the capital city of Uganda, which was on the route to Entebbe airport.
We visited Evangelist Muliika Emmanuel Fred’s home in Kampala. Fellowship together with his family.
Prayed for his ministry and his family.
Left Kampala to Entebbe by the same hired car.
After 12 ½ hours of total flight time, having transferred flights at Nairobi (Kenya) and Bangkok (Thailand), Zac reached Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia.
