Better To Be Loved By God
Genesis 29:31 – 30:23
When the LORD saw that Leah was unloved, He opened her womb; but Rachel was barren. (Genesis 29:31)
Then God remembered Rachel, and God listened to her and opened her womb. And she conceived and bore a son, and said, “God has taken away my reproach.” (Genesis 30:22-23)
It is better to be loved by God and unloved by people, than to be loved by people and unloved by God.
If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor. (John 12:26)
To be loved by God is to be honored by God. And God honors those who have given their heart and life to serve Him.
To such `Leahs’ and `Rachels’ …they will conceive …and birth forth the fulfillment and reality …of their God-given visions, desires and dreams.
These visions, desires and dreams were shared with God, a co-partnership. Isn’t it true that Leah’s and Rachel’s children were as much God’s children, as theirs? The nation of Israel was God’s desire and dream, first placed in Abraham. Leah’s sons and Rachel’s sons, were the forefathers of the nation of Israel. So Leah’s and Rachel’s visions, desires and dreams - were as much God’s visions, desires and dreams - as theirs.
So my encouragement today, is to continue making the choice to honor God and serve Him.
“Now therefore, fear the LORD, serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the LORD! And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” (Joshua 24:14-15)
Make a choice to serve His honor, glory and purpose.
