Keep On Keeping On – Principle To God’s Financial Blessing – Part 1
Genesis 26:12-25
Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the LORD blessed him. The man began to prosper, and continued prospering until he became very prosperous; for he had possessions of flocks and possessions of herds and a great number of servants. So the Philistines envied him. (Genesis 26:12-14)
There are 3 Principles To God’s Financial Blessing found in the life examples of Abraham, Isaac and Solomon.
Abraham heard God and obeyed. He believed in God and put his trust in God. Abraham’s faith was expressed in his willingness to walk into the unknown – a different geography, a different landscape, a different culture, a different people. There were unpredictability and ups-and-downs. In Abraham’s principle to God’s financial blessing, we learn that:
1. He heard God.
2. He obeyed God.
3. He was willing to walk into the unknown.
4. He was willing to confront different settings which he was unfamiliar with.
5. He was willing to face a life of unpredictability and a series of ups-and-downs.
Truly, Abraham was God’s entrepreneur. He was immensely wealthy because God prospered him.
This message will explore the Isaac principle. Before we extract lessons from Isaac, let’s look into the principle found in Solomon.
Solomon was the richest person of his time in the known region. Solomon’s principle financial blessing was simple: Solomon asked God for wisdom.
In James 5:5-8, we are reminded that when we ask God for wisdom, WE MUST NOT WAVER. Some asked God for wisdom, and after that, vacillate between God’s wisdom and human wisdom during the times when things got rough and tough. The point here is to stick to it. When you had asked God for wisdom, you stay with God’s revelation and idea. Don’t give up, don’t give in. And you will see the blessing.
